QUERYING ALBUM INFO BY NAME

If you click on the "Name" button in "Query mode" groupbox, a new panel will pop up above the file grid:.

Main_name

AudioMagus will try to detect artist and album names automatically, from the tag, filename or folder. However, you'd better look at the contents of Artist and Album field ny yourself. Bad info, such as querying "Bill" from FreeDB may result as a data exchange of several megabytes. Also, note that there is no real need to fill both fields, as that query from FreeDB will view them as a single field.

Info about the query is displayed in the log in the bottom of the main AudioMagus window. If you get matches, you will be prompted to choose appropriate album - even if you get just one match.

MultipleMatches

If you select an album from the album list, you'll have to sort results. While AudioMagus will try to sort local files to match FreeDB song names automatically (using Levenshtein distance), there is a fair chance that you'll have to sort them manually using up/down buttons in the right.

sort_results

As you can see, if the number of tracks does not match, "Missing track?" is displayed in Current track names. If the number of local files is too high, "Fake track?" is displayed in FreeDB track names.

If you have sorted the tracks, press Accept button. Sorting window will close and you can commence with renaming in the same way as with checksum match.
