MANUAL RENAME AND FILE INFO You can access Manual rename/File info from the filegrid right-click menu.
Rest of the items in this menu should be easy to understand, except "Fix 1..9 to 01..09". This function will attempt to rename badly numbered files. This is important because - as was explained before - calculating correct DiscID requires that files are in correct order. If there are more then 9 songs in the folder and the numbers start with single-digit numbers (1..9) and then continue with double-digit (10..), then the file order will be wrong. First comes "1", then 10, 11 and other double-digits, then 2,3,... Fix 1..9 to 01..09 is intented to automatically fix this situation. However, be careful, that function may mess up some band/album/song names (U2, Version 2.0, Nothing Compares 2 U. etc). Note that only first number in the filename is checked, ie "1 - U2 - Song" is renamed to "01 - U2 - Song" without any hassles.
Like I said before I got sidetracked, you can access Manual rename/File info from the filegrid right-click menu. You can also use double-click if you enabled that from options or F2 hotkey.
New filename field will be automatically filled with a current filename. Change it and press Rename button. Below is additional information about the file - both info that is contained in the file tag and also some audio details. You can use the button in bottom right corner to play the file in your default media player. Once again - remember that file cannot be renamed if it is in use. |
